*Spent the last few days in the studio with Dan Burns working on tracks for CLAAM and Aidan Hawken. The CLAAM track features the Double D Horns. Also did another Double D session for Jason Smith where Liz Lea joined us on trombone. Also found out the Double D's are going to be playing with Matt Nathanson on the Conan O'Brien show with our friends Lilly and Ian next week.
*Glen Campbell's new album Ghost On The Canvas was just released. I played trumpet on the song Nothing But The Whole Wide World which was written by Jakob Dylan. I just got a chance to read the credits and wow there are a lot of amazing musicians on this record, I'm honored to be in such great company.
*I did a session with the Double D Horns for Regina Spektor at Mike Elizondo's studio the other day. Really cool song and Regina might have the best pitch control of any singer I've ever been in the same room with.
*I've been fortunate to be able to perform on multiple occasionus with Lenka who's new album Two I played some horns on; and Matt Nathanson, whose album Modern Love I also contributed to in a similar capacity. This year has included performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live (2x), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (2x), The George Lopez Show, The Craig Ferguson Show and more as well as touring in US, Europe and Asia.
*The Double D Horns did a session for Mia Sable at 4th Street Recording in Santa Monica, CA wherein we assisted with brass, woodwinds, and the causation of spontaneous Muppet dancing.
*Recently did a session with David Ralicke of Dengue Fever (among other groups) for producer/multi-instrumentalist Jeff Trott. Did some vintage throwback horn section work wherein I got a really good opportunity to road test my recently acquired Martin Committee. As Ralicke put it, "that's a cool sound man"
