No matter what the style, no matter what the orchestration, I specialize in providing high quality horn arrangements and solos for your recording needs. I play the trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, euphonium, valve/slide trombone, alto horn, marching baritone and slide trumpet.
Typically I shape the arrangement in the studio with the artist and/or producer to ensure that their vision is realized without having to write charts or call an arranger, orchestrator or copyist. We just listen to the track, talk through what you want to record where, and then set up a mic (or 3) and start recording until you have the horn arrangement you want.
I also work regularly with woodwind doubler David Moyer in a horn section called The Double D Horns. David plays alto, tenor, bari and soprano sax as well as flute, clarinet and bass clarinet. We also have access to wide network of other musicians who can provide you with just about any wind instrument not mentioned above. We've worked with musicians of every level, from major label to indie to underground.
Whether you've booked time at a studio or are working out of your bedroom, I can give you the real sound you need for a price that's way cheaper than you'll find anywhere else. I can either come to the studio you are recording at or record the tracks at my own Pro Tools equipped studio and send them to you in the format of your choosing.
Most importantly, I will work with you to make sure you are getting the arrangement you want, from idea to orchestration to execution.
Rates for recording work vary - please inquire via the form on our contact page.I am available as a live performer on the above mentioned brass instruments as well as some keyboards, guitar and vocals. The Double D Horns are also open for booking and there are a number of other horn players that we work with on a regular basis should you need a larger ensemble. Rates are negotiable and subject to change due to availability.
I teach the following:
Brass performance (trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, euphonium, trombone,); Composition/Orchestration; Harmony/Theory/Counterpoint; Electronic music production; Home studio production; Guitar (beginning); Piano (beginning); Music history; Ear training.
