Evan Stone and the Translucent Ham Sandwich Band are going to be playing a free show in the lobby of the Marriott in Anaheim for the NAMM Convention. NAMM ( National Association of Music Merchants) is a yearly event that brings in musical instrument makers, buyers and players from around the world for a 4 day festival of madness. This is happening the evening before the Namm show actually starts in the Marriott right next to the convention center.

Danny T. Levin and David Moyer are going to be repping the MSP horns in full effect with Babystone at Tangier on the 11 of January. The band features Sly Stone's daughter on vocals and a cast of talented musicians bringing the funk behind her including Itai Shapira of The Elevaters. Check it out!

The White Belts are going to be playing at Social in Hollywood (across the street from the Cat and Fiddle) every Friday night from 8 to 11. The band will be doing a mix of standards, originals and contemporary indie rock and hip hop covers, all in the style of straight ahead jazz.

The Ventriloquists are going to be playing live at the legendary Whiskey A Go Go on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 9:00. Our friends in Vekstar are going to be playing that evening as well, so come out and hear two awesome bands rock the house.

The Ventriloquists are going to be playing on Valentines Day at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood with The Ghosts of California (from Sacramento), Canyon, Gus Greif and Vekstar. The Ventriloquists are going to unveil some new tunes with a new lineup featuring Baby Neddy, Jolly, Moweke 5000, Old E, The Dizzler and Pookie Dixon on the drums.

The show is being put on by My Name Is Mike Promotions and the cover is only 5 bucks, so this represents a cost effective answer to the question of "baby, what are we gonna do for Valentines Day?"

Pierre De Reeder of Rilo Kiley will be playing a solo show opening for The 88 at the Que's Riverbottom (4201 W. Olive Ave. Burbank, CA 91505) on Thursday, February 15. More details when we get them, but it looks like Baby Neddy will be making an appearance on horns.

TOCA is playing 2 shows in December in Los Angeles. The first, on December 9 will be at Dragonfly in Hollywood. The second show is at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on December 14, and will also feature Existereo, Busdriva, 2 Mex, and Ellay Khule. Check out the TOCA myspace page for more information.

Pierre De Reeder of Rilo Kiley will be playing 2 solo shows of brand new material. The first is at El Cid on December 12 at 8 pm and the second is on the 13th at Hotel Cafe. Starting the evening at Hotel Cafe will be Mike Bloom of The Elected and Kiley. Baby Neddy (Rilo, Elected, Ventriloquists, TOCA, etc.) is going to be playing various horns at all three shows. Singer-songwriter Albert Khasky is going to be playing live at Red Dragon Studios in Hollywood on August 5, 2006 with a band that includes Danny T. Levin, Mike Taylor and Sean Hurwitz among others. The cover is 12 bucks, but that includes an open bar! So come get your drink on and enjoy the scene. Kelly Jimenez is also playing, plus other possible special guests.

The first is at a yet to be disclosed location in Santa Cruz on the 26th, which will be followed by an opening slot for Holy Fools in Oakland on the 27th and a headlining show with Cloud Archive and Los Desnudos in San Francisco's Rockit Room on the 28th.
